The Priesthood
The Priesthood consists of all ministers of Edgefield Baptist Church.
"The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To
preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the
brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of
sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To
proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD." (Luke 4:18-19)
"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a
peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath
called you out of darkness into his marvelous light." (I Peter 2:9)
Ministries of Helps
Four Friends
is four prayer intercessors who are responsible for praying and
interceding for the Pastor, the church, and specific prayer requests.
"Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you
ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven." (Matthew
18:19)
Gideon's
Army is the men's ministry
of Edgefield. They seek to encourage men to use their gifts in service
to Christ. Their goal is to strengthen the impact of Godly men through
prayer and accountability and to reach out to other men. "And the Angel
of the LORD appeared to him, and said to him, "The LORD is with you,
you mighty man of valor!" (Judges 6:12)
Vessels
of God
is the women's ministry of Edgefield. This ministry serves to encourage
and promote the spiritual development of all women by enhancing the
spiritual, emotional and personal growth of each woman. We are
concerned with the total woman. "But in a great house there are not
only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for
honor and some for dishonor. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from
the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for
the Master, prepared for every good work." (2 Timothy 2:20-21)
Edgefield
Ushers ensure that the
needs and comfort of all God's people are met. They serve as watchmen.
These members aim is to make each individual in the congregation feel
welcome and comfortable. They are responsible for maintaining order
within the Lordship services. "For a day in Your courts is better than
a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than
dwell in the tents of wickedness." (Psalm 84:10)
The Nurses of Edgefield are
prepared at all times for any emergency that may arise. They are there
to attend to the sick. They provide medical attention during the
worship service in response to medical emergencies. "And whoever gives
one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a
disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his
reward." (Matthew 10:42)

Taking it to the
Streets – Edgefield
Outreach Ministry is a bible based Ministry to the hungry, the
emotionally wounded, and the spiritually impoverished in our local
communities and beyond. The Great Commission of Christ remains our
challenge, evangelism our goal. We have a vision to carry the gospel to
everyone that is lost, we have a mission of love and compassion, and we
must reach the lost. Piercing the night with the light of truth,
pointing the way to the cross, we must reach the lost! It is our prayer
that everyone who gives his life to Christ through our ministry will
have this same vision of evangelism as his main aim. It is our desire
to lift people from every walk of life. It is our prayer that this
ministry grows and God raises up more men and women to reach the entire
world for His kingdom.
"...for
I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink,
I was a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, I was
sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me."

School
Our mission is to provide effective, Christ-centered teaching and
learning programs that support the growing needs of our church and the
surrounding community.
Church School offers weekly Bible Study classes designed to help you
grow in your Christian Walk and to develop Godly character. We also
offer enrichment programs for grades K-12 and special interest programs
for adult members. We have skilled instructional teams that are here to
support our community in achieving their optimum learning experience.
Couples
in Covenant Marriage Ministry
Our
mission is To
educate, motivate and empower married couples in understanding how to
develop and maintain positive spirit-filled marriages. It is our desire
to develop marriage enrichment and communication skills, as well as to
help couples understand God’s sovereign plan for marriages.
Shirley
Thomas Cancer Awareness Team
Our
mission is to educate the people of God and surrounding communities
that early detection is the key to access total healing of the body.

ZION
Youth Ministries is dedicated to training and nurturing youth and
young adults on the Word, worship, praise, and service experience;
empower them to meet the spiritual as well as physical needs of young
people in their community. This enables them to become the salt of the
earth as they let their light shine for other young people to hear as
they proclaim the gospel of the our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for
Kingdom Building. This ministry was founded by our late Pastor,
Elder Eddie Thomas.
Youth
Bible Study is held every Wednesday night at 7:00pm in the George
Porter Fellowship Hall.

Our
mission is to epitomize excellence, enrich god’s people, and
enhance our community through prolific, unrestrained worship &
praise. In essence we want to be the perfect example of God-like
excellence. With that same demonstration of excellence we desire to
impart, or pour into god’s people. As a result, God’s
people will impact our communities through our worship &
peace.
Edgefield musicians and singers are committed to leading the church
into the presence of God through skillful playing and melodious psalms.
They charge the atmosphere and ignite the energy of the house as they
sing praises to our God.
